Student Visas

You must hold an appropriate visa that allows you to study in New Zealand and follow its conditions throughout your enrolment.

Once you receive your Offer of Place, apply as early as possible. You may need to provide evidence of your offer, tuition fees, living costs and insurance. Aspire2 cannot determine or guarantee visa approval. Check current requirements with Immigration New Zealand.

Working while Studying ​

If your student visa includes work rights, you may be able to work up to 25 hours per week while studying full-time. You may also be able to work full-time during eligible scheduled holidays.

Your work rights are recorded on your eVisa and determined by Immigration New Zealand. Aspire2 Work can provide CV support, job-search guidance and interview preparation. Check your conditions and current requirements with Immigration New Zealand.

Working after Study

Eligible graduates may be able to apply for a work visa after completing their qualification.

From 16 November 2026, the Short-term Graduate Work Visa will provide eligible Level 5–7 graduates with six months of open work rights. Eligibility conditions apply. Aspire2 cannot guarantee a work visa, employment, sponsorship or residence. Check current information with Immigration New Zealand.

Auckland Accomodation 

Auckland offers shared flats, homestays, student accommodation and serviced apartments at a range of prices.

Aspire2 can provide accommodation guidance, and two weeks of complimentary arrival accommodation may be available. Confirm this with Aspire2 before travelling. Before signing an agreement, check your rights and responsibilities at Tenancy Services.

Living Costs

Immigration New Zealand currently requires tertiary students to show they have NZ$20,000 for each year of study, or NZ$1,667 per month for courses shorter than one year.

Health and Travel Insurance

You must have appropriate health and travel insurance for the full duration of your enrolment. Most international students are not eligible for publicly funded healthcare and may need to pay the full cost of treatment.

Aspire2 can arrange OrbitProtect insurance, or you can provide evidence of another approved policy. ACC may cover accidental injuries but does not cover illness or general medical care.

Withdrawing from Study

If you decide to leave your programme, you must complete Aspire2’s formal withdrawal process.

Whether you receive a refund will depend on your circumstances and the applicable refund provisions. Refer to the Student Handbook for full details.

Tuition Fee Protection

Your tuition fees are protected through the Public Trust Fee Protect scheme. This provides protection for fees paid in advance if Aspire2 is unable to complete the delivery of your programme.

If Your Visa Is Declined

Contact Aspire2 as soon as possible and provide evidence of Immigration New Zealand’s decision.

Any refund will be assessed under Aspire2’s current refund provisions and applicable New Zealand requirements. Refer to the Student Handbook for full details.

Credit for Prior Learning

Previous tertiary study or relevant work experience may count towards your qualification through credit transfer or recognition of prior learning.

This could reduce the study required to complete your programme. Speak with Aspire2 to have your previous learning and experience assessed.

Before You Travel

Before travelling to New Zealand:

• Accept your Offer of Place and follow the payment instructions.

• Apply for your student visa as early as possible.

• Confirm your insurance and Auckland accommodation.

• Book your flights and provide Aspire2 with your arrival details.

• Bring your passport, visa, enrolment and insurance documents.

• Check the date of your compulsory student orientation.

Student Orientation

Orientation introduces you to Aspire2 and student life in Auckland. You will meet the support team and learn about studying, safety, insurance, banking and your rights and responsibilities in New Zealand.

You will also receive your complimentary laptop and SIM card. Attendance is required to complete your enrolment.

Preparing for Work

Before your academic programme begins, you will complete Aspire2’s Personal Development Programme.

It introduces you to New Zealand workplace culture, communication and the skills employers value. You will also receive employment support to help you prepare for work opportunities.

NZQA-Registered Provider

Aspire2’s IT and Cybersecurity programmes are delivered by Aspire2 Education Limited, an NZQA-registered Private Training Establishment.

NZQA reviews registered providers to assess their educational performance and ability to monitor and improve their work.

Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city and is known for its diverse communities, mild climate and access to beaches, parks and outdoor activities.
